Andrew Neiman (Miles Teller), playing the drums at Shaffer Conservatory of Music, the music school in USA and he’s just an alternate drummer in his class. Then, He stop playing drums when the band conductor, Professor Terence Fletcher (J.K Simmons) appears at the door and asking him about his personal life, and why did he stop playing the drums. But, because Fletcher was looking for new drummer in his class, he asking him again to playing the drums. So, Andrew resumes playing drums. After finishes playing, Fletcher ask Andrew to show his rudiments by playing the drums again. While Andrew playing drums, Fletcher slams the door off.

The next day, Andrew enters one class aside from Fletcher. Every time he went to his class, he always tried to peeks in to Fletcher class, watching Fletcher band’s performance, but Fletcher know that Andrew peeks in to the class, and Fletcher looking back to him.

Meanwhile, in his class, Andrew is just an alternate drums player of Ryan Connelly (Austin Stowell), a core drummer. Shortly, the professor (Fletcher) arrives in Andrew’s class, and Andrew becomes horrified of him. Then, surprisingly Fletcher start conducts every saxophonist bassist one by one and finally the drums. After that, Fletcher tells Andrew to come to his class tomorrow at 6 in the morning. Then, Andrew’s training as drummer in Fletcher class started.

As you can see, Whiplash is a simple story about a young man who want to be one of the greatest drum player, and also want to impress his "killer" professor, Terence Fletcher. So, if you asking me, why Whiplash so special? because it can thrilling us, with just connection between Andrew and his "killer" professor.

The film so intense, until i also feel scared of what Fletcher doing to Andrew. Whiplash not action movies, there's no superhero-thing like someone who tried to save world or psychopath-thing. but, the ways Fletcher push Andrew to became one of the greatest drum player, enough to frighten me, mentally. Another good points in this film is you will never get bored while watching it, because dynamic of the plot and it has a great music (Jazz), also, there's so many good point you can get from this film, RECOMMENDED!

The story started when Lee (Jonno Davies) jump on the terrorist and cover the boom explosion, sacrificing himself for his partners, Merlin (Mark Strong), Harry Hart aka Galahad (Colin Firth), and Lancelot (Jack Davenport). Then, Harry visits Lee's wife Michelle (Samantha Womack) to inform of her husband's death and gives her a medal of valor in Lee's honor with a number on the back of the medal in case she needs a favor, and to use the phrase is "Oxford's not brogues", to know it's her. But, because Michelle rejects the medal, Harry give it to Lee's young son Gary, aka Eggsy (Alex Nikolov).

A few years later, teenage Eggsy (Taron Egerton), in his early 20's, living with his mother and her abusive new husband, Dean (Geoff Bell), along with Eggsy's baby sister. They live in a ratty flat and are financially insecure. Because of that, Eggsy became a bad boy and cause so much trouble, like, stole the Dean’s group of goon’s car. Then, He detained at the police stasion, and facing 18 months in prison. Cause he need a help, he takes out the medal he wears around his neck and calls the number on the back. Eggsy remembers the phrase "Oxford's not brogues", and moments later, he is bailed out by Harry. The two go to the pub and Harry told him about his father past as secret agent. then, the Journey of New Eggsy begun.

New kind of spy agent movie! never seen action-thriller movie this funny, and have a great soundtrack, this movie does everything right. If you came to watch Kingsman, and thinking it was like a bunch of spy movies out there like james bond and matrix, you're in the wrong place. Because Kingsman takes a spy movie to a new level, it's different! with amazing cast, Oscar winner Colin Firth and Michael Caine, plus Samuel L. Jackson as Villain, spectacular. Never crossed in my mind that Colin Firth would take a part in spy - action movie! as we know, he well-known for drama movies actor, like Bridget Jones's Diary, The King's Speech, Love Actually, etc.

If you like action, spy, thriller and comedy movies? Kingsman give it all to you.

Kingsman: The Secret Service

I'm not a big fan of Korea, or K-pop, but we must admit that South Korea has rapidly growing from economics to entertainment world, especially music and cinema, for this past few years, while 10 years ago, not so may people know about South Korea. and now, Korean "Boom" is like everywhere, from music, drama, products, movies, even make up look!

Now, South Korea cinema can be count as Asian Hollywood, for their consistency bringing a nice script and strong characters, with their plot development so viewers is having difficulty to guess the ending.
So... This, my TOP 5 South Korea movies you must watch!

1. OLDBOY (2003)

An average man is kidnapped and imprisoned in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. He then is released, equipped with money, a cellphone and expensive clothes. As he strives to explain his imprisonment and get his revenge, Oh Dae-Su soon finds out that his kidnapper has a greater plan for him and is set onto a path of pain and suffering in an attempt to uncover the motive of his mysterious tormentor. -IMDB

One of the best plot for Korean movies, with a nice twist! The original thriller, crime movies, who makes viewers trying to guess the ending or the reason why Oh Dae-su kidnapped for 15 years. Eventough, the genre it self is thriller crime, but still there's a comedy scene from the Oh Dae-su's clumsiness. I can't say more about this movie, because it will ruin your curiosity of the plot. JUST WATCH!

2. My Sassy Girl (2001)

Based on a series of true stories posted by Ho-sik Kim on the Internet describing his relationship with his girlfriend. These were later transformed into a best-selling book and the movie follows the book closely. It describes the meeting of Kyun-woo (Cha Taehyun) and an unnamed girl. Kyun-woo is shamed into assisting the girl because the other passengers mistakenly think she is his girlfriend. One of the best romance comedy drama movie ever! The first time i watched My Sassy Girl when i was on 2nd years of elementary school. And i still remember every epic scene in this film. My Sassy Girl, is like a legend for Korean romance comedy drama. After the successful of My Sassy Girl, there's so many Korean Comedy Drama Romance, who trying to be success as My Sassy Girl, ex: windstruck, My Girl & I, Ba;Bo etc.

3. The Man from Nowhere (2010)

A quiet pawnshop keeper - Cha Tae-Sik (Wo Bin) with a violent past takes on a drug- and organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the child who is his only friend, So-mi (Sae-ron Kim), who lives nearby. So-mi's mother, Hyo-jeong smuggles drugs from a drug trafficking organization and entrusts Tae-shik with the product, without letting him know. The traffickers find out about her smuggling and kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. The gang promises to release them if Tae-shik makes a delivery for them, however it actually is a larger plot to eliminate a rival drug ring leader. When Hyo-jeon's disemboweled body is discovered, Tae-shik realizes that So-mi's life may also be in danger. Tae-shik becomes enraged at the prospect that So-mi may already be dead and prepares for a battle, putting his own life at risk. - IMDB

At first, i didn't expect much about this movie. but, because the great development of the plot makes me enjoy the movie, eventough i'm not a big fan for thriller movie. The plot it self is original, and makes the viewers curious with the main character, villain and the ending.

4. Hello Ghost (2010)

Sang Man (Cha Tae-hyun) feels his life completely useless. He doesn't have any attention of people nearby and dear to him, so he decided to commit suicide and end his life. However, he's always fails in every action of his suicide. In fact, after trying to commit suicide, he can see a ghosts. There are four ghosts who constantly disrupt him. Sang Man really feel disturbed by the presence of this ghosts, because he wants to try to commit suicide again, but the ghost always disrupt him. So, Sang Man has an agreement with the ghost, that he would allow his body controlled by the ghosts to finish their 'business', however, if all the business they had finished the ghosts must go away.

One of my Favorite! this movie, will make you a burst into laughter for almost entire movie, and a sadness in just one scene.

What happens if handsome and cool, radio announcer at his 30s, had to change his life 360 degrees because of the arrival of a girl who claimed to be his daughter and bringing small child who also claimed to be his grandson.

Nam Hyun Soo (Cha Tae-Hyun) is a radio announcer, who have a vent session with the audience. until one day there's a mysterious woman who vent about how she struggles in search for her biological father and also grandfather for her son, so finally Hyun Soo advised her to keep trying for searching her father. Then, when Hyeon-soo was preparing to go out with a his girlfriend, suddenly Hwang Jeong Nam (Park Bo-young) and also Hwang Ki Dong (Hwang Seok-hyeon) recognized Jeong nam as her son, came to Hyeon-soo's apartement, and claims to be his daughter and Hwang Ki Dong as Hyun Soo's grandson.

Speedy Scandal, included in comedy drama musical category Movie. Speedy Scandal is, a nice movie you can watch with your family, because it's funny, have a nice story and also have a nice soundtrack.

The Intouchables

Tidak ada seorang pun yang mengerti perasaan anda? bahkan keluarga anda sendiri? hal ini lah yang di alami oleh Craig (Keir Gilchrist). Craig adalah pemuda berumur 16 tahun, yang merasa depresi akan hidupnya, malahan tak jarang Craig sering mencoba untuk bunuh diri, tetapi selalu saja gagal. Sampai suatu hari ia memutuskan untuk memeriksakan dirinya ke Psikolog, karena ia merasa tidak normal akan kebiasaannya yang selalu ingin mencoba untuk bunuh diri. Akhirnya, Craig meminta untuk di masukkan ke tempat Rehabilitasi gangguan jiwa (ya.. bisa di sebut RSJ lah).

Saat pertama kali tinggal di tempat tersebut Craig merasa sangat asing, dan sempat meminta pada dokter untuk pulang saja, karena ia takut. Namun, dokter mengatakan bahwa minimal ia harus menetap selama 3 hari, setelah itu baru di perbolehkan pulang. Selama 3 hari di sana ternyata merubah kehidupan Craig, mungkin aneh kenapa kehidupan seseorang dapat berubah hanya karena tinggal di sebuah tempat Rehabilitasi namun hal tersebut lah yang terjadi pada Craig.

Kehidupan dan perilaku Craig berubah semenjak ia bertemu dengan Bobby (Zach Galifianakis), seorang yang dengan terpaksa tinggal di tempat Rehabilitasi dengan alasan karena dia adalah seorang Tuna Wisma dan depresi akan keadaan keluarganya. Craig dan Bobby, menjadi bersahabat, mereka saling sharing perihal masalah masing-masing. Terutama mengenai Noelle (Emma Roberts), yang merupakan salah satu pasien juga di tempat rehabilitasi tersebut, Craig tertarik dengan Noelle, oleh karenanya ia selalu bertanya pada Bobby bagaimana caranya agar ia dapat menarik perhatian Noelle, namun Craig juga masih mencintai pacar sahabatnya, yaitu Nia (Zoe Isabella). Bagaimana perjalanan Craig selama 3 hari dalam menemukan jati dirinya? Dan apakah ia akan memilih Nia atau Noelle?

It's Kind of a Funny Story, merupakan film drama komedi tahun 2010. Film yang ditulis dan disutradarai oleh Anna Boden dan Ryan Fleck ini merupakan film adaptasi dari novel dengan judul yang sama, terbitan 2006. Film It's Kind of a Funny Story memiliki cerita yang unik, pada menit awal penonton mungkin agak kurang "nyambung" atau cendrung bosan, namun film ini masih dapat dinikmati dengan adanya komedi segar di dalamnya, bagi anda yang kurang suka film drama bisa mencari film sejenis lain, walaupun It's Kind of a Funny Story masih tergolong Komedi, tapi Komedi yang di sajikan tidak terlalu "ramai" menurut saya, yah sekedar komedi lelucon saja.

It's Kind of a Funny Story

Sang Man (Tae-hyun Cha) merasa hidupnya benar-benar tidak berguna. Ia tidak punya orang terdekat yang perhatian dan sayang kepadanya, sehingga ia memutuskan untuk bunuh diri dan mengakhir hidupnya. Namun, sialnya Sang Man selalu gagal dalam setiap aksi bunuh dirinya. Malahan setelah mencoba untuk bunuh diri, Sang Man dapat melihat hantu. Ada empat hantu yang selalu menganggunya, yaitu: seorang hantu gendut tukang merokok, seorang hantu kakek-kakek cabul, seorang hantu anak kecil yang nakal, dan terakhir seorang hantu ibu-ibu yang selalu saja menangis.

Sang Man benar-benar merasa terganggu dengan kehadiran hantu-hantu ini sebab ia ingin mencoba bunuh diri lagi (konon orang yang bisa melihat dan diikuti hantu tidak bisa bunuh diri). Sang Man pun mengadakan perjanjian dengan para hantu tersebut, bahwa ia akan mengijinkan tubuhnya dikendalikan oleh para hantu untuk menyelesaikan ‘urusan’ mereka, namun, apabila semua urusan mereka sudah selesai para hantu itu harus pergi meninggalkannya. Akan tetapi seiring dengan berjalannya waktu para hantu itu memberikan sesuatu yang Sang Man selalu inginkan: sebuah keluarga yang bisa bersamanya. Lantas… bagaimana petualangan Sang Man dengan para hantu ini?

Selain menceritakan mengenai kehidupan Sang Man dengan para hantu, Hello Ghost atau film yang memiliki judul asli Hellowoo Goseuteu ini, menceritakan pula mengenai kisah percintaan Sang Man dengan Jung Yun-Soo (Ye-won Kang), yang merupakan seorang suster, mereka tanpa sengaja berkenalan akibat ulah salah satu dari hantu yang mengajak Sang Man ke rumah sakit.

Film produksi tahun 2010 ini, patut diacungi jempol! Selain karena jalan ceritanya yang epik, film ini memiliki alur yang membuat penonton ingin terus melihatnya. Menurut saya, film ini full package, horror, komedi dan drama di sajikan secara seimbang, Tae-hyun Cha sendiri menurut saya sangat pas dalam memerankan Sang Man, dengan mimik muka yang lucu, ia dapat membuat penonton tertawa. Ingin melihat film Horror, Drama dan Komedi menjadi satu? Hello Ghost jawabannya

Hello Ghost

Apa jadinya kalo seorang penyiar radio di usia 30, tampan, keren, mapan dan terkenal hingga suatu hari kehidupannya harus berubah 360 derajat karena kedatangan seorang gadis yang mengaku sebagai anaknya plus membawa anak kecil yang juga mengaku sebagai cucunya.

Nam Hyeon Soo (Tae-Hyun Cha) adalah penyiar di sebuah radio yang terdapat sesi curhat dengan pendengarnya. hingga suatu hari ada wanita misterius yang curhat tentang bagaimana perjuangan dia dalam mencari ayah kandungnya sekaligus kakek buat anaknya, dia juga tidak pernah bosan untuk curhat sama Hyeon Soo dan akhirnya Hyeon Soo menyarankan padanya untuk mendatangi saja ayahnya.

Dan ternyata Hyeon-soo kaget setengah mati waktu sedang mempersiapkan kencan dengan teman wanita di apartemennya, tiba-tiba saja datang Hwang Jeong Nam (Bo-young Park) yang mengaku sebagai anaknya dan juga Hwang Ki Dong (Seok-hyeon Hwang) yang diakui Jeong Nam sebagai anaknya.

Dan ternyata Jeong Nam adalah anak dari hubungan di luar nikah antara Hyeon-soo dengan cinta pertamanya waktu smp, wanita tersebut usianya 5 tahun lebih tua dibanding Hyeon soo. Kemudian kejadian berulang terhadap Jeong Nam yang notabennya ia anak hasil MBA, jadi MBA juga dengan pacarnya dan melahirkan Gi Dong waktu masih kelas 1 SMA.

Speedy Scandal, Film korea yang memiliki judul asli Kwasok Scandle, produksi tahun 2008 ini dapat diacungi jempol. Selain ceritanya yang unik, Soundtrak yang bagus, terdapat makna kehidupan yang dapat di ambil dari film ini. Jujur saja, sebenarnya saya bukan penggemar berat korea. Namun, semenjak saya menonton film ini, saya mulai menggemari dan mengoleksi berbagai film korea, seperti Old Boy, Hello Ghost, Sex is zero, My Sassy Girl dll.

Rating Speedy Scandal pun memuaskan di IMDB, banyak review yang baik dari orang barat, kebanyakan dari mereka beranggapan bahwa speedy scandal benar-benar mengocok perut. Oleh karenanya saya memberi Rating: 4/5, bagi kalian yang jenuh dan butuh tontonan yang mengocok perut, speedy scandal bisa jadi solusinya. Selamat Menonton!
